TOEFL practice essay. Rea - Y 10

It has been said, "Not all learning takes place in the classroom." Compare and contrast knowledge gained from personal experience with knowledge gained from classroom instruction. In your opinion, which source is more important? Why?

Psychologists, each day give highlight different ways of teaching and explain ways of how children can be more focused in their studies. But, does all the learning take place in the classroom and which source is most important? I think it is a complex idea, the title makes it rather simplistic.

Until we graduate, school is the main source of learning new things but it isn't always the most efficient because kids aren't focused on their teacher’s words while they are in school. In fact, we just hear things in school, we learn them at home.

In social life we learn lots of things that are important for our future but most of all they are important to help us to carry on in everyday life. In my opinion, the most important source isn't only school rather it is a combination of school and ‘life experiences’. Different experiences, challenges, even struggles make us stronger in life. It doesn't matter the source of learning things, the real importance is what we learn.

The knowledge gained from personal experience lasts forever because it is not learned in an obligatory way. The classroom knowledge is important because as much as teachers try to tell us that we will need that kind of knowledge in life we always learn the lesson just for a test or quiz.

It is important to learn for ourselves, to be prepared for the future because there is a difficult world out there!
